Jennifer P. Veney on Pulse of Northern Neck Radio Show 08/02 by Orlando Presentz | Indie Music Podcasts:
TUESDAY AT 8:30am Est
Jennifer picked up her passion for singing in 7th grade, under the direction of her mentor, Mr. Marcellus Dungee, who helped to develop her voice from a squeaky teenager to a well-rounded and controlled adult vocalist. In high school, Jennifer won many singing competitions and was awarded Most Valuable Musician in her senior year. Her exposure to musicals, as well as her involvement with several church and community choirs, had urged her to spring out and begin working on her solo project. Jennifer has performed for the X Factor in Greensboro, NC, and travelled to Harlem, NY to perform at the Apollo Theater. Additionally, she had a spotlight showcase with BET in a singing competition. As a solo artist, Jennifer has performed at many venues, starting out with karaoke nights singing secular music. This opened the door to many more opportunities to perform at functions, such as county festivals, fairs, bike/car/truck shows, weddings, birthdays, anniversary parties, and the list goes on. Jennifer eventually formed an R&B band in Hustle, VA called Young Vintage, while earning herself added exposure through newspaper articles and social media.
